Welcome!
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is an
international aviation organization of aviation enthusiasts of which
Chapter 1398 is a proud part. EAA members enjoy a variety of
airplanes, including "experimental" aircraft, which are those built by
individuals rather than a factory.
The EAA, headquartered in Oshkosh, Wisc., has more
than 170,000 members worldwide with local chapters in all 50 states.
Members come from all age groups and walks of life, including
commercial pilots, engineers and business persons. The EAA sponsors
several aviation education programs, including the Young Eagles,
designed to foster young people's interest in flying.

A word from the president
Hello EAA friends, I would like to
thank everyone for coming Saturday, we had a very good turnout! We've
probably got the record for the longest EAA meeting ever held, it
lasted longer than our Air Derby last September. Merrel Blaylock of
Special Products Aviation did an excellent job on his fabric covering
seminar and was also very entertaining. We had several
guests, 4 from Chapter 122, 3 from Chapter 165, 3 from Oklahoma (don't
know the chapter number) and a few from other towns that were not
affiliated with any chapter or organization. All in all we probably
had about 45 people, some of which came during the afternoon session.
I want to remind everyone that at our next meeting April 8, we will be
flying a group of Young Eagles from Pine Bluff and we will be grilling
Hot Dogs for them as well, more on that later. Meeting time is 10:00
a.m. at my hangar, we will have a brief safety meeting prior to
flying. Let Brenda or myself know as soon as possible if you are able
to fly or help on the ground. Thanks,
Bob |

Flying
High!
On September 10, EAA Chapter 1398 sponsored an air

Events included an air race, a skydiving
demonstration, spot landing contest, RC aircraft demonstrations, as
well as a toy glider flying contest for youngsters and static displays
of various aircraft, including Warbirds, ultralights, experimental and
antique planes. Concessions also were provided.
